What an architect costs and what you get

An architect's fee is not one number. Here is what it is made of and why it pays to agree the scope upfront.

The fee follows the scope

It is the most common question at a first meeting. The honest answer: it depends on what you need. A design study alone, full documentation with permits, or support on site all differ. That is why we always start by clarifying the scope together.

What the fee is made of

Beyond the design itself there is coordination of specialists — structure, heating, electrics — and communication with the authorities. Complexity matters too: a sloping site or an old building needs more thought than a simple new build on flat land.

Why it pays off

A good design avoids mistakes that are costly to fix on site. A sensibly sized house, a thought-through plan and clear drawings for builders mean less improvisation and fewer extras. Our offer is always written and split by stage, so you know what you pay for.
